50% of the lanes on the highway are shut down, so everyone is driving down King Street West. So many expensive cars are in front of my apartment window. I see a Land Rover and two BMWs right now. I bet most of them are listening to Top 40, and certain that almost all of them have the A/C on while the idle outside of my window, polluting what is left of the atmosphere. All the while, each of these cars has, at most, two people in them, and most of them have one lonely driver using absolutely ridiculous amounts of gas.

Isn't it absolutely absurd that Bush just suspended the clean air requirements on oil production facilities to drop the price of gas? No. It's frightening. And all to fuel this excessive consumption occuring right before my very eyes.

Will I ever get a car? Perhaps. But the idea certainly makes me cringe.
